My time at Canara Robeco (formerly CanBank) amounts to 28 years, having tremendous impact on personal and professional growth. Being in several departments gave me insights on the inner working of a mutual fund, and an ability to better manage my own finances in current market conditions. Mentors and bosses at the company have been the greatest benefit, fostering my skills to optimise workflow while still being very considerate to my situation as a working mother. During the learning stages, my seniors challenged and empowered me with responsibilities rather than assigning basic tasks, treating  errors as teachable moments while shielding me from affected external stakeholders. The company has also been appreciative of my work granting me constant rewards and recognition, providing me with intrinsic satisfaction in addition to monetary benefit. A constant reminder that I am valuable member of Canara Robeco! As a benefit to my personal life, this firm has facilitated financial security, allowing me to provide for my daughter’s education as well as purchase a home of my own.

I am proud to be an employee of CRAMC which over the past 25 odd years had set itself and maintained the highest moral and professional standards. Learnt major life lessons. Never say die, one for all & All for one, work-life balance to name a few. From very young age, I always assumed and/or accepted much matured roles and I did my best and acted as friend and offered my  guidance to each and every one without fear or favour. The joint venture in 2007 expected people to specialize in their respective spheres of work and this philosophy helped me to get my work-life balance. Before joint venture I used to manage 5 different functions. I took it on myself the role of passing on the Company’s ethos and its DNA to ever changing work force of this organization and I do feel I have fairly successful in this self-assumed role.

I have been working with this company for the last two and half decades. What makes me feel great about this institute is 3 aspects viz. its culture, goodwill and ethics. The working atmosphere is very friendly. The commitment of the company with its associates and the work force is amazing and that’s the key which holds us with this company for last many years.

When I think about my 10 years at Canara Robeco, three things come to mind:

Freedom and opportunity: While setting up the investment process in 2008 and later setting up the offshore  advisory business in 2010, the management provided me with all the support and  freedom to implement the best practices that benefit our clients and other stake holders. Open Communication: We have a company culture which encourages team work and collaboration. All there are open communication channels with departments and levels. 7 out of the 10 years, I have reported to the CEO directly. And I have always found it easy to discuss issues  with him and seek his guidance on important matters. Work-Life balance: Canara Robeco encourages a good work -life balance. Working here is fulfilling both professionally and personally.
