Financial Literacy for school children

We are committed to the communities that we live in. One such initiative is Financial Literacy for low income group school children.

The Government of Goa has mandated Canara Robeco to conduct Financial Literacy programs in Government High Schools all over Goa. These schools are attended by children from migrant communities and low income groups

The program is developed and conducted by professionals from FinAkshar, a company exclusively into Financial Literacy education. They use a unique pedagogy consisting of theory content, interactive class sessions, activities and a one-of-its-kind online game. Students learn the concepts in the class and then apply those concepts in the game. This makes them appreciate the content much better. The program is conducted over ten days in each school and runs through out the academic year.

The program has been well received by the students and staff of the schools. Students found the concepts very useful in their daily lives and with the knowledge acquired in these classes, they were able to help themselves and their families. So far more than 6000 students of class 8 and class 9 in Goa have been covered under this initiative touching every nook and corner of the state.
